Break for Brinker

E-mail Print PDF

Anja Brinker (Germany) is facing a break in training of three months after an operation on her foot. The 18-year-old recently underwent surgery to remove a heel spur in her left foot, the same operation she  had in her right foot in 2008. Brinker won the bronze medal on uneven bars at this year's European Championships in Milan but failed to qualify to the final on the event at the World Championships in London last month. Scheduled to graduate from high school next year, she may miss the 2010 European Championships in late April due to exams.
